The Resurrection is history, not hoax. He is risen! There are some theories that try to disprove the resurrection. They will be listed and refuted. 1. The tomb wasn't empty. Roman history and Jewish texts acknowledge that the tomb was indeed empty along with other historical texts. The fact is that Jesus wasn't in the tomb. 2. One "scholar" says that it was all a hallucination. There is no way that all 11 disciples hallucinated. Jesus appeared to about 500 people after He was risen from the dead. There is absolutely no way that 500 people in Jerusalem were hallucinating. 3. Jesus didn't actually die, and He escaped from the tomb. No one could survive the torment and pain of the crucifixion. Jesus was lashed until He had virtually no skin on His back. He was beaten. He shed a lot of blood. He was hung on an old rugged cross and had to push up on the nail in His feet to breathe. Suffocation along with all else contributed to death. A Roman even stabbed Him in the side to make sure that He was dead. In trying to escape from the tomb, how could one in His shape move Himself or the great stone that sealed the tomb? The disciples wouldn't have bowed down at the feet of a Jesus in that shape after a crucifixion and wouldn't have believed the resurrection, and then Christianity would've died long ago. But He is risen! 4. The disciples stole the body. How could they get past the Roman guards? The disciples were mostly fishermen. They were not trained for combat. The Roman guards on the other hand were well trained. If they went to sleep on a night watch, they would be executed. Historical fact: the guards from the tomb were not executed because they didn't make a mistake. How could the disciples move such a heavy stone? 5. One "scholar" says that the "young man" that the women saw was just a young man. This "young man" said this of Jesus: "He is not here. Go see where they laid His body." This "scholar" says that the "young man" was telling the women that they had come to the wrong tomb. The fact is that the "young man" is an angel. The "scholar" conveniently left out three words that the angel said to them: "He is risen!" I think that phrase tells the women what's up! If it would've been the wrong tomb, the women could've gone to the authorities, but this never happened. NOTE: For all of these false theories, note that no one ever found a body. The Romans and Jews could have stopped all of this by presenting the body, and Christianity would've died early, but that didn't happen because the body wasn't there. He is risen! Mohammed's body is in his tomb. Buddha's body is in his tomb. The fate of Ghandi's body was public. BUT the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead! This is historic fact! He is risen!
